Job Description - Daily Living Skills Instructor/Paraprofessional (Full-time/Part Time)
The Camphill School is seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated professional to join our team in a dual role as a One-to-One Paraprofessional and Daily Living Skills Instructor for the 2026/2027 school year. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to a student during the morning and lead or assist with daily living skills instruction for students in the afternoon. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to help students build independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
There is also the possibility for the Daily Living Skills Instructor to be a standalone part-time (afternoons) position Monday through Friday.
The Camphill School is a residential and day school for students ages 5-18 with moderate to severe intellectual and developmental disabilities.The Camphill School has a unique educational program providing an adaptive Waldorf curriculum. Traditional academic subjects are balanced with a strong art and music program and a practical hands-on approach.
The mission of The Camphill School is to create wholeness for children and youth with developmental disabilities through education, extended family living, and therapy so that they may be better understood, they may more fully unfold their potential, and they may meaningfully participate in life.
Responsibilities include:
One-to-One Paraprofessional (Morning)
Provide individualized academic, behavioral, and social support to an assigned student.
Assist with classroom participation and implementation of educational goals.
Support student engagement, independence, and success throughout the school day.
Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff.
Daily Living Skills Instructor (Afternoon)
Teach functional life skills to individuals and small groups of students.
Develop and implement activities that promote independence and daily living skills.
Assist students with self-care needs, including dressing, toileting, hygiene, and mobility support as needed.
Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming learning environment.
Supervise and support program staff professionally.
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in the implementation and monitoring of student IEP goals.
Collect data and contribute to progress reports.
Communicate effectively with families and team members.
Attend faculty meetings, student meetings, and required trainings, including First Aid/CPR and CPI.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to provide personal care support and lift moderate to heavy weight when necessary.
Knowledge of IEP implementation and data collection is a plus.
Able to pass all background clearances

Salary: dual role position – $33,000-$36,000 dependent upon experience
