Applicant Letter (job description below)
Dear Applicant,
Seeds Wilderness Way (formerly Seeds Wilderness Therapy) is seeking a spiritually grounded and clinically trained leader to help guide transformation and restoration. Our work includes heart-level ministry and therapeutic support for a diverse population: youth at risk, parents, community mentors, youth pastors, missionaries, and others seeking deep renewal. Each respective group engages with Seeds through different programing throughout the year, and requires thoughtful, individualized approaches to healing and growth.
About Us
We believe wilderness expedition accelerates spiritual formation and restoration in profound ways. The rugged mountains of Colorado create a unique environment for trust, dependency, experiential discipleship and counseling. The beauty and awe of the mountains create a deep awareness of God’s presence with us. Restoration is additionally enhanced by a transformational peer cohort in the field and a family/community network at home.
While many of those we serve arrive with previous diagnoses, trauma histories, or mental health challenges, our approach prioritizes identity, peace, joy, and wholeness in Jesus. We value clinical understanding, but we emphasize a Kingdom-centered model shaped by prayer, scripture, spiritual disciplines, and relational discipleship. Our clinical staff work collaboratively with our pastors and chaplains to support holistic transformation.
About You
We are looking for someone with a deep, devoted walk with the Spirit of God—someone who leads from intimacy with Jesus and discernment from the Lord. Your clinical training (Marriage and Family Therapy, LPC, Social Work, or seminary-based counseling) equips you to navigate complexities of identity, narrative, trauma, addiction, behavior, and mental health. Your trust in Jesus allows your clinical training to have Kingdom fruit.
You value both spiritual formation and clinical wisdom, and you are comfortable integrating them in ways that honor Jesus and support real change. You understand the power of relationships in heart growth and have a vision for how community, family, and the Church can participate in long-term transformation.
You resonate with the principles found in works such as Soul Care (Reimer), Breakthrough (Warner), or Living from the Heart Jesus Gave You (Wilder), and you believe in experiential learning—especially in wilderness settings. You appreciate the role of rites of passage or ceremonial experiences to mark growth in maturity.
Regarding Compensation and Time Commitments
Currently this position is set as part time, averaging 10-15 hours of key strategic leadership engagements (and/or supervision) per week. This would allow you to work remotely with specific travel engagements to Colorado.
We anticipate this part time position attracting a few different candidate profile types:
The First Type: You are in a private practice or a flexible work environment where you can call your own hours. This allows you the freedom to add a part time position as a leader in a beautiful Kingdom engagement and create a legacy for others to follow. You are a bit of an entrepreneur and start-ups or pioneering are things that come naturally to you. Compensation requires both of us to trust the Lord to provide what’s needed and offset other work engagements you will have to say no to in order to take on this new part time ministry venture.
The Second Type: You have engaged missionally in the past and serving in God’s Kingdom is a calling deep in your bones. This is a labor of passion for you and you are either already on ministry support or willing to entertain such endeavors. This may turn into a full time position for you, and/or you have considered moving to Colorado already. In this camp, you would be willing to be the “boots on the ground” as the primary therapist in addition to clinical leadership and oversight. You have a clear ministry calling and will do whatever it takes because God is your provider.
The Third Type: You are retired or have other engagements. You believe your purpose is to train up the next generation of Kingdom builders. Cash is not a concern for you as your kids are fully grown or your house is paid off. Perhaps you have additional passive income somewhere. If you fall into this category, you are likely more interested in training and leaving a legacy than you are in the day to day grind of face to face ministry. In this camp, strategy and creating a great path for others to run on is exciting to you.
We are confident God has led us to this relational, experiential style of transformation. As we have asked Him how He wants to fund this position, we hear his invitation to be creative based on the needs of the candidate. As we are trusting the Lord together for His provision, financial creativity could be some combination of high student enrollment and salary, corporate fundraising, personal ministry fundraising, or some combination of all three. We’d love to invite you to a conversation here.
We suspect this “open” compensation plan will create anxiety for some. We believe this position is more of a calling than a job, and we are committed to navigating how to trust the Lord together to supply all the needs of the person who feels that calling.
Trusting the Lord with you,
Dean Reynolds
