Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach multisensory structured remedial written language therapy designed specifically for the school aged dyslexic learner

• Develop and enhance new curricula

• Train Texas public school teachers as Dyslexia therapists 

• Teach class(es) of school-aged and adolescent dyslexic learners in the Center for Dyslexia Lab 

• Collaborate and participate in the development and refinement of curricula

• Complete appropriate student reports

• Demonstrate expertise in teaching methods conducive to therapist training 

• Pursue continual professional growth 

• Demonstrate effective communication skills with students and adults

Required Skills/Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in education or related field - required

• Certification as an Academic Language Therapist - required

• Strong communication skills (including written, telephone, in person, e-mail) - required

• Master’s degree – required

• Minimum 2 years of experience teaching an Orton-Gillingham based multisensory, remedial program to school aged students – preferred
