Early Childhood Reading Specialist
The EC Reading Specialist will be responsible for providing intervention that improves student achievement in early reading and literacy skills, with an overall goal of advancing the academic skills needed for success. They will cultivate a student-centered environment that fosters relationships and promotes continual growth for students and their families.

Collaborating with teachers and the Special Services team to support children who have reading difficulties, and to assist those children in developing their abilities

Responsibilities
Works with the Special Services team to assist children who have reading difficulties
Provides targeted reading instruction for identified students
Monitors students’ progress and provides frequent updates to staff and parents
Updates Progress Monitoring Data for Reading Success Plans
Adapts instructional techniques to meet the diverse needs of individual students
Helps ensure the learning environment is dynamic and conducive to high-level learning
Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college/university or its equivalent
Preference will be given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in early childhood literacy or early childhood special education
Experience in early literacy preferred
Current Missouri Teacher Certification (not Substitute Certification)

Schedule Hours: During the school day from 8:30 to 11:30 am; up to 3 hours per day, up to 3 days a week
Compensation
This position is a non-exempt hourly position, with no benefits. The hourly rate is $30.00 per hour.
