Equipment Assistant (Part Time)

Position Overview

This position reports to the Equipment Manager and will handle collection, washing, drying, and distribution of practice laundry during the busy summer/fall season.

Responsibilities

• Laundry Management: Handle the daily collection, washing, drying, folding, and distribution of athletic practice laundry.
• Shift Coverage: Fill critical scheduling gaps and empty slots during non-school summer months to ensure continuous operation of the equipment room.
• Inventory & Organization: Assist with organizing and maintaining the athletic equipment room to ensure gear is readily accessible.
• Team Collaboration: Coordinate with the Athletics Equipment Manager and student workers on various shifts to support athletic teams during busy summer hours.
   

Required Qualifications

• Scheduling Flexibility: Availability to work flexible part-time hours (10–29 hours per week), including potential day and evening shifts during August and September.
• Reliability: High level of dependability and punctuality to cover vital operational hours when student workers are unavailable.
• Physical Ability: Ability to perform active, physical tasks, including lifting laundry bags, loading/unloading commercial washing machines and dryers, and standing for extended periods.
• Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills to accurately track, sort, and distribute athletic apparel.
   

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Butler Athletics or Hinkle Fieldhouse operations.
