Faculty, Surgical Technology, Part-time

The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in Surgical Technology courses. This role will teach theory and lab courses in alignment with the Core Curriculum for Surgical Technology.

EDUCATION

• Associate's Degree Graduate of an associate-degree Surgical Technology program accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency. Required
• Bachelor's Degree In a health related or educational discipline. Preferred

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

• Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA). Required
• Must be certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) through the American Heart Association (AHA) at the Basic Life Support (BLS) level. Required
• Valid and in State Driver's License. Required

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years. Required

• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required
• Understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Surgical Technologist in clinical practice. Required
• Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multi-cultural issues. Required
• Knowledge and understanding of educational theory. Required
• Developed organizational skills. Required
