Job Duties:

Under supervision of Dietary Operations Manager, assists with food service procedures in order to serve food to residents. Obtains and stocks food and other dietary supplies from storage; opens cans/cases/packages.  Portions, slices, chops, grinds, re-thermalizes and assembles food according to verbal and/or written instructions and/or medical orders.
Maintains clean work area and/or equipment; cleans and sanitizes work area (for example floors, walls, counters, sinks) and equipment, takes out trash. Scrapes, rinses, washes, sanitizes pots, pans, food carriers, trays and other kitchen equipment in order to maintain proper sanitation standards by use of automatic dish-washer or manually.  Puts away kitchen equipment when not in use.
Delivers food and/or dietary supplies to residential cottages by use of food service truck.  Maintain inventory by documenting food usage, overages and shortages.  Attends meeting and in-services as required.


UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Exposed to heat from kitchen; may be exposed to dangerous or hostile residents; may work rotating days &/or weekends
