Full to Part Time Help Desk Technician

Full to Part Time Help Desk Technician needed for our technology client in Baltimore City. The Full to Part Time Help Desk Technician will be responsible for providing technical tier 1 and 2 support in a pharmaceutical setting. Six month contract position with possible extension or contract to hire consideration. The non-negotiable pay rate is $22.00 per hour.


Essential Duties:

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related by phone, email and chat relating to the following: 

• Windows/Mac operating systems.     
• Email and basic productivity tools.     
• Password resets and account access.     
• Network connectivity (Wi-Fi/LAN).     
• Printers and common peripherals.     
• Common software applications.     

• Log, document, and track support requests in the ticketing system.     
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to senior IT staff or vendors.     Perform basic hardware troubleshooting (PC/laptop peripherals, cabling, accessories).     
• Support user onboarding/offboarding tasks as needed (accounts, access, device setup).
  Assist with routine IT tasks (patching support, device checks, inventory support).
• Maintain knowledge base articles and update documentation.

Qualifications:
  

• Prior experience in a helpdesk or IT support role is required.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and customer service mindset are required.   
• High school diploma is required. 
• Associates Degree in Computer Science is preferred.

Must have working knowledge of the following:  
     

• Networking basics (DNS, DHCP, IP addressing, Wi-Fi).     
• Active Directory / user management (preferred).     

• Ticketing systems (e.g., Freshservice).     
• Windows and/or macOS environments.     
• Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users.     
• Reliability and responsiveness during support hours.

• Must have IT certification in CompTIA A+, Network+ or Microsoft.
  
• Must be familiar with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams and OneDrive).
  
• Must have basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices (phishing awareness and MFA).
  
• Must have experience supporting mobile devices (iOS/Android) or endpoint management tools.
  
• Must be available to work from 8:00 am-4:00 pm Monday through Friday with a 30 minute non paid lunch on site then transition to a Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule.
  
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
  
• Ability to lift and carry IT equipment (typically up to ~25 lbs / 11 kg) as needed.

• Ability to sit/stand at a workstation and work with computers for extended periods.
