Job Description - Full-time and Part-Time Pediatric Speech and Language Pathology Assistant

Full-time, Part-time

Description

Full-time and Part-Time Pediatric Speech and Language Pathology Assistant

Earn up to $37/hour + up to $17,500/year in performance bonuses. Work with kids. Actually love your job.

We're Whole Child Therapy (WCT), a therapist-owned pediatric practice in the Inland Empire where clinicians thrive and kids make real progress. We started in a 700-square-foot Claremont space in 2018. Today, we're 65+ professionals delivering 700+ weekly sessions across two clinics and school partnerships. We grew because our therapists stay. You'll see why.

Why SLPAs Love Working Here

  • Real mentorship. You'll work alongside SLP’s who want you to grow, not just sign your notes.
  • Specialty exposure. Rotate through feeding therapy, AAC/assistive technology, and our Social Stories™ Program. Build a skillset most SLPAs never get near.
  • Neurodiversity-affirming practice. We build on strengths. No compliance-based therapy. No masking goals.
  • Clinical ladder. A defined path to advance, with pay bumps to match.
  • Get paid even when they don't show. Cancellations and no-shows are paid at your full rate.

Compensation

  • Base hourly rate: $29 to $37/hour (based on pediatric experience)
  • Weekly performance bonuses: earn starting at 75% productivity
  • Annual bonus potential: up to $17,500/year at top tier
  • Flexible schedule groups: Part-time (less than 30 hrs) Reduced (30 to 32 hrs), Modified (33 to 35 hrs), or Standard (36 to 40 hrs). Bonuses earnable at every group (except part-time)
  • Cancellations & no-shows: paid at your full hourly rate

Benefits & Perks (Full-Time only)

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • 6 paid holidays + 80–120 hours PTO/year (grows with tenure)
  • Student loan repayment assistance: $200/month after 2 years, $400/month after 4 years
  • CEU reimbursement: $300–$1,000/year based on tenure
  • Therapy supply reimbursement: up to $200/year
  • Ongoing specialization training in feeding, AAC, and social skills
  • Leadership development and clinical ladder advancement
  • No weekends. Ever.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with licensed speech-language pathologists to implement individualized treatment plans for pediatric clients
  • Assist in conducting therapy sessions using appropriate techniques and strategies
  • Help children develop speech and language skills through engaging, play-based activities
  • Support assessments and screenings, documenting client progress and observations
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and progress reports
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers about therapy progress and home strategies
  • Work with our interdisciplinary team (OTs, SLPs, COTAs) to ensure comprehensive care
  • Participate in team meetings and continuing education opportunities

About Whole Child Therapy

Whole Child Therapy was founded by husband-and-wife occupational therapists Dennis and Ina Necesito with one promise: every family gets the same holistic, effective, caring therapy we'd want for our own children. That promise built a practice where clinicians are respected, kids are seen as whole people (not symptom checklists), and growth for both patients and therapists is the default.

We offer pediatric OT, speech therapy, feeding therapy, assistive technology, AAC services, and social skills programs across two Inland Empire clinics and school partnerships throughout the IE.

Requirements

  • Active California Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license
  • Genuine love for working with kids
  • Strong communication skills with families, colleagues, and supervising OTRs
  • Organization and time-management chops to juggle a caseload and keep documentation current
  • Adaptability. Kids are unpredictable. You roll with it.
  • Pediatric experience preferred, not required
