Job Description - Grassroots Coordinator, Iowa

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is the premier grassroots organization focused on advocating solutions to the country’s greatest challenges. We recognize that tens of millions of Americans are frustrated with the extreme partisanship in government that keeps common-sense reforms from being passed, and instead seek to stand with policy leaders who are committed to finding a better way.

If you have a passion for making real connections, tackling issues that impact your community, and helping people improve their lives but have limited availability due to your season of life, class schedule, or other commitments, we have an exciting part-time job opportunity!

 

Americans for Prosperity (AFP) is hiring part-time Grassroots Coordinators who want to get a jump-start in their political or policy career by advocating for our issues in their communities.

\nYour Responsibilities Include
  • Collaborate with AFP activists and volunteers in phone banking, door-to-door canvassing, and neighborhood events related to state-based policy initiatives 
  • Work alongside local Engagement Directors to execute state and local educational rallies and other grassroots events
  • Help build, maintain, and grow communities of AFP activists in coordination with Engagement Directors 
  • Work directly with state staff to drive special projects related to AFP priority initiatives 
  • Help with logistics relating to canvassing literature and materials 
  • Support various grassroots activities

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Determination to continually expand personal knowledge, with a dedicated commitment to lifelong learning.
  • Readiness to drive both personal and organizational evolution, aiming for greater effectiveness in our endeavors.
  • Ability to connect with teams to propel shared interests and advance the state and federal priority initiatives 
  • Exceptional customer focus skills and ability to anticipate needs 
  • Exceptional familiarity of Iowa's local landscape
  • Valid driver’s license
