Position Overview

Concorde Education is seeking an engaging Introduction to Nursing Instructor to lead a career-focused after-school enrichment course for high school students.

This course introduces students to the nursing profession and broader health care pathways through interactive learning, career exploration, and age-appropriate demonstrations of basic clinical concepts. Instruction focuses on helping students understand what nurses do, how the health care system operates, and the education paths available to those interested in entering the field.

Classes meet once per week for approximately 10 weeks and emphasize discussion, real-world insights, and introductory health care knowledge appropriate for a high school setting.

  • Professionalism in health care environments
  • Basic patient communication and teamwork skills
  • Health care ethics and patient rights fundamentals
  • Infection control and public health basics
  • Introduction to vital signs and what they indicate
  • Overview of major body systems relevant to nursing

  • First aid awareness and safety practices
  • Career preparation and workplace readiness in health care

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging, interactive after-school sessions for high school students
  • Facilitate discussions, demonstrations, and simple case scenarios related to nursing and health care careers
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and Concorde program coordinators
  • Track attendance and basic program progress as required
  • Support students in completing a simple final project or career reflection activity

Qualifications

  • Minimum 60 college credits completed
  • Background in nursing, health sciences, or a related health field
  • Experience working with school-age students (teaching, tutoring, mentoring, camps, youth programs, etc.)
  • Strong communication and classroom facilitation skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional
  • Ability to present health career content in an age-appropriate and engaging way

Flexible Part-Time Opportunity

Most Concorde instructors teach 1–4 hours per week, though many choose to lead multiple programs across different schools.

Assignments vary by location and schedule, allowing instructors to select opportunities that best fit their availability.
