As a vital member of our small, collaborative healthcare team, you will utilize the nursing process to deliver exceptional, safe, and personalized care to both well-patients and those managing chronic or acute health conditions in an office setting.
How You Will Fulfill Your Potential (Responsibilities)
· Advanced Clinical Care: Perform phlebotomy, administer routine immunizations and therapeutic injections, run EKGs and Holter monitors, conduct pulmonary function testing, and manage IVs as assigned.
· Patient Intake & Prep: Welcome patients and capture vitals (BP, pulse, respiration, height/weight), document medical histories/chief complaints, record LMP dates, and identify medication refill needs.
· Provider Collaboration & Support: Partner directly with providers to execute medical orders, assist with in-office surgical procedures, coordinate changes to treatment plans, and complete required screenings (pain scales, safety screenings).
· Communication & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records in the EHR, including all patient assessments, telephone triages, and immediate documentation/reporting of significant changes in acute patient conditions.
· Practice Quality & Safety: Manage daily quality control logs (temperatures, QC checks), audit clinical supplies and sample medications for expiration dates, and participate in staff meetings, new hire orientation, and procedure updates.
What You Bring (Qualifications)
· Education: Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program.
· Licensure: Current license and registration to practice practical nursing in New York State.
· Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Infection Control certifications (or obtained at time of hire)
· Clinical Awareness: Strong understanding of age-specific risk factors, sensory perceptions, motor functions, and medication impacts across our patient population.
· Strong hands-on clinical skills (Phlebotomy, EKG, and injections)
· Ability to communicate calmly with patients, families, and providers, even in stressful situations
· Highly organized, maintain absolute clinical accuracy, and thrive in an efficient office environment.
· Committed to professional self-development and staying current with modern nursing practices.
