The Office of the Ohio Attorney General is seeking candidates for a part-time, intermittent Maintenance Repair Worker 2 vacancy in the General Services Section. This position will report to OPOTA in  London, Ohio daily. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, replacement, minor installation and repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water and steam lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, heating and air conditioning, piping, drinking fountains).

- Performs skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, replacement, minor installation and repair of electrical equipment (e.g., light fixtures, electrical outlets, switches, motors, appliances, electrical circuits, emergency generator, fire alarms, intercoms, autoclaves, incubators, meters, fans, radios, televisions, meters).

- Performs carpentry work involving skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, alteration and/or repair to buildings, equipment and wooden structures (e.g., doors, windows, walls, woodwork, floors, partitions, stairways, furniture, door closers).

- Performs spot roof repair and installs security devices, locks and window air conditioners.

- Assists in painting and/or performs minor painting of fixtures, rooms, buildings, signs and equipment.

- Patches plaster and prepares surfaces for painting.

- Assists in masonry work.

- Operates machine tools and welding equipment in making repairs to metal parts and equipment.

- Assists in repair and maintenance of interior and exterior maintenance equipment and other specialized equipment (e.g., dental equipment, laboratory equipment).

- Performs minor vehicle repairs and maintenance (e.g., changes oil and filter, checks transmission fluid, tire air pressure).

- Performs interior custodial duties (e.g., mops, sweeps, waxes floors, washes wall and windows).

- Performs exterior grounds keeping duties.

- Removes snow and ice from sidewalks.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition and subtraction and in reading, writing and speaking common English vocabulary; 6 months training or 6 months experience in maintenance repair work (e.g., basic electricity, plumbing, carpentry, masonry repair and use of associated hand and power tools and equipment). In accordance with Section 124.11 (B) (2) of Revised Code, Director of Administrative Services has determined this classification to be unskilled labor class and therefore exempt from written examination.
