This part time role is located at our Rancho Bernardo facility in the greater San Diego area and is part of the SI\u0026O Vehicle Systems Engineering Department.\n\nThe group\u2019s charter is to maintain and evolve products in air vehicle electrical design and integration that will continue to enable innovative solutions for cutting edge vehicle management system architectures. \n\nResponsibilities:\n\n * This section Manager position is responsible for providing leadership and management support to a section consisting of between 10 to 15 engineering leads and individual contributors.\n\n * The successful candidate will be a self-starter, organized, independently directed with good problem-solving skills, able to perform effectively despite concurrent work tasks and will possess strong communication, leadership, and team building skills. \n\n * As a Section Manager (SM) reporting to the Department Manager within the Vehicle Systems Engineering Department, approximately 25% of the SM\u2019s time will be spent performing leadership, people management, and supervisory duties such as management of personnel (direction \u0026 coaching), program/project reviews, coordination of job assignments, staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, performance reviews, and process improvement activities. In addition, the individual will support technology and business development activities, proposals, and design reviews.\n\n * The balance of the time (75%) is expected to be spent supporting direct programs or NCTA development efforts.\n\n * Responsibilities include leading a team of 10-15 engineers who develop designs for vehicle electrical circuits, mechanical enclosure. In addition, may include responsibility for lab techs involved with environmental test screening, qualification, production and sustainment. \n\n * Specific responsibilities include technical and managerial leadership, problem solving, business support/budget management, hiring/staffing, and other functional activities. \n\n * The successful candidate is expected to spend his/her time managing the team as well as working directly on a variety of air vehicle technical programs.\n\n * The successful candidate must have experience working with diverse technical teams, and must also be experienced with the design, assembly and/or test of flightworthy electrical circuit cards, mechanical enclosure for LRU hardware and standard test equipment.\n\n\n\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\n * Bachelor\u0027s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 9 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master\u0027s degree in a relevant STEM discipline and 7 years of related professional/military experience\n\n * Experience with the design, development, and implementation of electrical circuit design, LRU enclosure design and standard test equipment design. \n\n * Experience in determining the avionics procured subsystem design tradeoffs working with subcontractors to develop detailed subsystem specification. \n\n * Experience in performing tradeoffs between cost/schedule/performance for competing avionics architectures which meet system performance requirements. \n\n * Prior technical and subcontracts management experience, along with a track record of leading a highly skilled team and suppliers in the design and build phases of air vehicle or test equipment systems within schedule, labor and material cost requirements is preferred. \n\n * Ability to obtain and maintain an Active DoD Secret Clearance\n\n * Ability to obtain Special Program Access. This Special Program Access must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time as determined by the program to meet business needs\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $161,100.00 - $241,700.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
