Performs receptionist duties for a clinic, physician's office, or similar medical facility.
Essential Responsibilities:

- Greets and registers patients or other visitors, informs staff of patients' arrival, and directs patients to appropriate department or examination room.
- Gathers and updates patient contact or other personal information.
- Collects and inputs patient insurance information and verifies active coverage or eligibility.
- Collects co-pays or other fees due to the facility.
- Answers and transfers phone calls, schedules appointments, arranges for referrals, or relays messages.
- May perform occasional clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, or photocopying; clerical duties may require experience with medical records or electronic health record systems.
- Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
- Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
- Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent training and experience.
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
- Valid Kansas Driver’s License if job requires
Preferred Qualifications:

- General office experience.
- Previous customer service.
Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations
- Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Nursing Aide
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of medical transcription, medical terminology and various software programs.
- Working knowledge of various computer programs (Word, Excel).
- Working knowledge of office equipment, i.e. copier, fax machine, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.
- Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR).

- Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
