MRI Technologist PRN

The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist operates Franciscan’s MRI scanners to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues, which are used by physicians and other healthcare professionals as an aid to diagnosis. The MRI Technologist maintains optimum proficiency and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of MRI procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

• Provide an explanation of exam, clear instructions, address patient concerns, and review all safety information and screening prior to the exam.
• Complete all MRI procedures, obtaining optimal images for physician review, according to policy and protocol.
• Practice established safety guidelines and uses MRI safety tools and techniques.
• Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
• Follow sanitation guidelines of federal, state, and regulatory agencies.
• Assist in the training of students and technologists in MRI, and perform injection procedures, including administering gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously.

Qualifications

• Preferred Associate's Degree MRI
• Preferred Certificate Radiology
• 1 year MRI Experience Preferred
• Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) ARRT, ARRT-MR, or ARMIT
• Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
