The Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant position is part of the JobCare/Urgent Care Department and is a contingent role scheduled to work on an as-needed basis to support departmental staffing needs. Available shifts are primarily Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., with occasional weekend coverage as needed. This position does not have any holiday work responsibilities.

This role provides advanced patient care under the general supervision of a physician, focusing on evaluating, treating, and managing patients with acute and chronic conditions while ensuring a seamless and efficient care experience.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program

• Current license from the State Board of Nursing or Ohio State Medical Board to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

• Experience in patient counseling and education preferred

• Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team

• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills

• Professional demeanor, initiative, and flexibility to meet patient care needs

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and evaluate patient care in the JobCare/Urgent Care setting

• Examine and treat chronic and acute illnesses, minor injuries, accidents, and other conditions

• Order and perform diagnostic and therapeutic tests and procedures as applicable

• Write prescriptions and perform office procedures within scope of practice and protocols

• Refer patients to physicians when necessary

• Provide guidance and directions to nursing and ancillary staff to ensure quality care

• Maintain adherence to established nursing and medical standards, procedures, and practices

• Promote professionalism, patient safety, and high-quality patient care
