Treats and transports sick or injured persons to medical facility.
General Accountabilities
Responds to instructions from emergency medical dispatcher and drives emergency vehicle to specified location.
Maintains contact with dispatcher.
Determines nature and extent of illness or injury to establish necessary first aid procedures or need for additional assistance.
Administers prescribed first aid treatment at site of emergency, or in specially equipped vehicle.
Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility.
Assists in removal of patients from emergency scene and transfer of patients to treatment center.
Assists admitting personnel in obtaining and recording information related to patient's vital statistics and circumstances of emergency.
Maintains emergency vehicles and medical and communication equipment.
Assists professional medical personnel in emergency treatment administered at medical facility.
Turns in appropriate documentation in a timely fashion.

Job Qualifications
Education: Paramedic, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, CPR
Experience: EMT-P, NREMT, and the ability to obtain UPMC Medical Command

The Parkview Volunteer Fire Department was founded in 1930, celebrating over 80 years of dedication and service to O’Hara Township. Parkview EMS Information:
The 200 Margery Drive Station is staffed 24/7 with career staff and supplemented by volunteer staff for second calls working in the district.
The station houses three ALS units and Squad 180.
Parkview VFD Midway Drive Station houses the fourth unit and is staffed by volunteers when additional unit is needed.
Parkview VFD/EMS offers the following classes on a regular basis:CPR,Con Ed. Contact the station for more information.

To deliver a solid management plan which includes the best EMS healthcare and a sound EMS Financial plan by performing budgeting,planning and cost controls.
To train and supervise of all EMS paid and volunteer Personnel so they deliver the highest quality health care possible.
To provide “hands-on”support where appropriate as EMS Professionals to save and protect life as needed.
