This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. The position is at-will and has an expected end date of August 14, 2026, subject to change. This position will work 20 hours per week and no more than 39 hours per week. The hiring pay range for this position $21.26/hour – $25.00/hour.
This position is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules including some evening and weekend meetings.
In this position you can expect to work primarily on-site at the Denver City and County Building 3 – 4 days per week and virtually 1 –2 days per week. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.
The office of Councilmember Paul Kashmann, District 6, is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant III to support the constituent, policy, and community impact work across District 6. This is an at-will and on-call/part-time position. Please note this position requires regular work outside of normal business hours, including evenings and weekends. This position is built around the core responsibilities of communications and constituent services. Social media skills are a plus. The Administrative Support Assistant for District 6 wears many hats and will pick up tasks in the below areas, as needed.
Specifically, as a part-time Administrative Support Assistant, you will:
Engage with community members in various ways: in-person, phone, email, social media
Provide the public with general information, explain and clarify rules, processes, and procedures, answer questions, and resolve a variety of problems within a defined scope
Manage inbound phone calls
Utilize a variety of computer programs and apps to complete tasks and stay organized including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, etc. and be able to learn how to use new programs
Work with the office team to plan events and outreach to community
Perform other related duties as assigned
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal communications skills, exceptional attention to detail, and be a self-starter with a high work ethic and be capable of maintaining a positive attitude in a high pressure, confidentiality-sensitive and fast-paced, politically charged environment. Additionally, our ideal candidate will have:
A demonstrated commitment to public service
Experience in being detail orientated
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills and the ability to respond promptly to requests/questions
The ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
Work autonomously and be dependable as part of a team
Experience using MS Office Suite
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of clerical experience
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement.
License/Certifications: By position requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
