The Card Processing Specialist supports the daily operations of the Card Services Department. This role is responsible for processing credit and debit card transactions, managing card issuance and maintenance, handling member inquiries related to cards, and assisting with fraud monitoring and dispute resolution. The Card Processing Specialist ensures accurate and timely processing while delivering excellent member service.
What you will do:
Oversee card transactions, including approvals, declines, reversals, and adjustments in accordance with credit union policies.
Manage card issuance activities such as new card requests, replacements, and activations.
Assist with the investigation and resolution of card disputes, chargebacks, and fraud alerts.
Monitor daily transaction reports and alert management to any suspicious activity or irregularities.
Maintain accurate records of cardholder information and transaction documentation.
Provide timely and professional responses to member inquiries regarding card services.
Collaborate with card processors, payment networks, and vendors to resolve operational issues.
Ensure compliance with PCI DSS, NACHA, and other regulatory requirements governing card operations.
Participate in training sessions to stay updated on card products, systems, and compliance standards.
Support audit and compliance activities by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
Qualifications and Skills Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years experience in card processing, payments, or financial services preferred.
Experience with credit union or banking card systems is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Proficiency with card processing software, core banking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
