Part-time Data Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting business and financial decision-making by collecting, organizing, analyzing, and reporting data across the credit union. Provides hands-on experience applying data analytics, statistical methods, and visualization techniques to real-world financial data, including operational, member, and risk-related datasets. Assists with reporting, data quality initiatives, and analytical projects while gaining exposure to credit union operations and regulatory considerations.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for applying knowledge of data analytics and information systems to support reporting and technical needs; improve data processes, quality and architecture; develop analytical dashboards and internal tools; and help identify and mitigate data‑related risks.

NON-ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Required Knowledge:

• Knowledge of SQL, Python, R, Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Angular, HTML.


• Knowledge of DB2 SQL Databases, database modeling and other Querying languages.


• Knowledge of Data science & Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning, Probabilistic and Statistical Learning Methods.

Experience Required:

• Minimum –three to five years of data analysis.

Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to assist and train others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification: 

• Master’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Knowledge:        

• Experience with business intelligence or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Table


• Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing, Sequence Labeling


• Understanding of credit union operations and information needs.

Experience Preferred:             

• At least five years of related experience, preferably in a financial environment.


• Minimum two years of UI/Batch scripting experience in a financial environment.

Skills/Abilities:                        

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.


• Ability to interpret data and communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.


• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.


• Basic project management and time management abilities.


• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

AVERAGE VISUAL ABILITIES: Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products or operate machinery.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Sedentary work; sitting majority of the time. Exerts up to 10lbs. of force occasionally. (such as in a typical office.)
