The Montgomery College, Rockville, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member as Assistant Track & Field Throws Coach. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated coach who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintaining a respected NJCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track & Field program.
- Being knowledgeable of and adhering to all applicable NJCAA, conference, department and college regulations that relate to recruiting, daily program management, operations of the sport and general success of the program.
- Assisting in providing leadership and mentorship of student athletes.
- Assisting with establishing team and individual goals.
- Assisting with promoting and monitoring the physical, emotional and social welfare of student-athletes.
- Assist with the team's social media presence and marketing.
- Assisting with recruiting quality student-athletes by means of personal contact and correspondence, evaluating ability in person or by videotape, and through on-campus visits.
- Assisting with planning and implementing in-season conditioning and practices, evaluating both team and individual performance.
- Preparing and conducting off-season conditioning, practice and other related activities.
- Assisting with monitoring and promoting student-athlete academic progress and success in accordance with Athletic department academic policies.
- Assisting with scheduling practices.
- Assist with Track & Field clinics and camps.
- Work effectively with administrators, faculty, staff, parents, and alumni.
- Work non-traditional hours.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years of College, and/or High School Track coaching experience
- Track Coaching license and certification, one of the following:
- U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)
- U.S. Association of Track and Field (USATF)
- National Federation of State High School (NFHS) Association courses
- Knowledge of NJCAA rules and regulations.
- CPR certification.
- Experience training or instructing student-athletes.
- Preferred coach positions: Throws
- Demonstrated leadership experience in team management. excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Good driving record.
- The positions would help train athletes to focus on throwing events. Responsibilities include but are not limited to helping create workouts sessions, coordinating strength training workouts with the team strength coach, coordinating competition plans and entries with the Head Coach, and assisting with recruiting student-athletes.
- Strong knowledge of throwing techniques and training methodologies.
- Criminal background clearance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Prior coaching experience in track & field throwing events (collegiate, club, or high school level)
- USATF Coaching Certification or equivalent
For degrees earned outside of the U.S., a copy of your education equivalency, conducted by a nationally recognized evaluation service, must be included in your application.
