Position Description:

The University of Louisville School of Music seeks an outstanding candidate to serve as Lecturer in Piano to begin by August 1, 2026. This is a 10-month part-time faculty position that will hold the rank of part-time lecturer.

Core duties will include teaching applied piano, piano pedagogy, and chamber choir coaching.

Applied lesson compensation assumes involvement in convocations, area meetings, studio classes, end-of- semester area juries, auditions, recruiting, and any other matters pertaining to the applied area in question. PTLs will offer instrument specific repertoire or pedagogy classes only when at least one of the enrolled students must take the course to fulfill a degree requirement. This is a non-tenurable appointment and does not include health benefits.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have professional level performance ability as well as successful private teaching experience. A minimum of a Bachelor of Music, plus professional experience is required.
