SPEECHCOM, INC is thrilled to announce a part-time opportunity for a passionate Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) or SLP-CF to join our Supportive, Collaborative, School-Based Team in St. Lucie, Florida, for the 26/27 school year!

Position Highlights

  • Rate of Pay: $48-$55 per hour W2 (depending on experience)

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities: Skill in communicating verbally and in writing with students, faculty members, and parents so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.

Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • State of California License in Speech Language Pathology
  • Clinical Fellows must have completed their Master's Program and have everything ready to apply for their temporary license (mentorship available)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and families.
  • Must possess sufficient technology skills to complete IEP documentation and communicate effectively via email.

Primary Job Duties: Job Description 

  • Administer hearing or speech and language evaluations, tests, or examinations to students to collect information on the type and degree of impairments
  • Develop or implement treatment plans for problems such as stuttering, delayed language, or articulation delays, based on assessments and observations.
  • Instruct students in techniques for more effective communication
  • Consult with and advise educators on speech or hearing topics, such as communication strategies
  • Design, develop, or employ alternative diagnostic or communication devices or strategies.
  • Use computer applications to identify or assist with communication disabilities.
  • Evaluate speech and language test results, or medical or background information, to diagnose and plan treatment for speech, language, fluency, or voice disorders.
  • Write reports and maintain proper documentation of information, such as student billing records or caseload activities, including the initial evaluation, treatment, and progress of students.
  • Participate in and write reports for meetings regarding students' progress, such as individualized educational planning (IEP) meetings.
  • Complete professional responsibilities, such as coordinating paperwork, scheduling case management activities, or writing IEP goals.
  • Participate in training, continuing education courses to maintain licensing and professional requirements.
  • Supervise or collaborate with the therapy team.
  • Consult with and refer students to additional educational services, if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Description

$48.00 - $55.00 per hour
