Part Time Physician

Job Summary:

A part-time physician is sought to provide high-quality medical care to residents of an assisted living facility. The physician will collaborate with the care team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, ensuring the health and well-being of residents. This role involves regular on-site visits, addressing acute and chronic conditions, and coordinating care with families and other healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 
   

   Medical Care and Oversight:

   
   
   
   
   • Conduct regular on-site visits to assess and manage residents' medical conditions.
   
   
   • Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
   
   
   • Monitor and evaluate residents' response to treatments and adjust care plans as needed.
   
   
   
   


2. 
   

   Care Plan Development and Coordination:

   
   
   
   
   • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including nurses, therapists, and facility staff, to create and implement personalized care plans.
   
   
   • Coordinate with specialists, hospitals, and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care.
   
   
   • Communicate effectively with residents' families about medical conditions, treatment options, and care goals.
   
   
   
   


3. 
   

   Documentation and Compliance:

   
   
   
   
   • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatments, and progress in electronic medical records (EMR).
   
   
   • Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA standards.
   
   
   
   


4. 
   

   Preventative and Wellness Care:

   
   
   
   
   • Promote preventive care measures, including vaccinations and health screenings.
   
   
   • Educate residents and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications.

   Emergency and On-Call Services:

   
   
   
   
   • Provide guidance to staff during medical emergencies and assist with critical decision-making.
   
   
   • Be available for consultations as needed during assigned hours.
   
   
   
   

Qualifications:

• 
  

  Education and Licensure:

  
  
  
  
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  
  
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, or Geriatrics.
  
  
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of New Jersey.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary care, geriatrics, or long-term care preferred.
  
  
  • Experience working with older adults in an assisted living or similar setting is highly desirable.

Work Schedule:

• Part-Time Position: Flexible schedule, typically requiring 8-16 hours per week.
