The agency provides individual, family and group counseling, consumer credit counseling services and homebuyer education programs, as well as community paper, cardboard and electronic recycling and industrial and janitorial contract services.

Revenue from the sale of donated goods in nine area retail stores, and online helps support these services.

Job Purpose: Obtains or receives merchandise, totals bill, accepts payment, and makes change for customers in retail store by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Offers suggestive selling through customer assistance and product knowledge.
• Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
• Sets up displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
• Obtains merchandise requested by customer or receives merchandise selected by customer.
• Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
• Totals price and tax on merchandise purchased by customer to determine bill.
• Accepts payment and makes change.
• Wraps or bags merchandise for customers.
• Cleans shelves, counters, or tables. Vacuum, sweep, dust, and mop store and work areas. Maintain outside areas at entrances and donation doors.
• Maintain pull schedule.
• Assists with stock rotation and inventory.
• Processes goods for placement in store.
• Assists in providing hands on training to clients assigned to the store.
• Other duties may apply.
