The Valet Parking Attendant is an important first and last impression of the Naples Yacht Club. This position is responsible for providing exceptional, courteous, friendly, and efficient service to Club members and guests from the moment they arrive until the moment they depart.

The Valet Parking Attendant safely operates and parks member vehicles, efficiently manages vehicle retrieval, assists with arrivals and departures, monitors the Club's front entrance, and anticipates member needs. The ideal candidate demonstrates genuine hospitality, positive energy, professionalism, sound judgment, and a strong commitment to safety.

Requirements

  

Member & Guest Hospitality

  • Greet every      member and guest warmly, professionally, and enthusiastically upon      arrival.
  • Create a      positive first impression through genuine hospitality, eye contact, a      welcoming attitude, and professional communication.
  • Assist members      and guests promptly and courteously with valet check-in and vehicle      retrieval.
  • Anticipate      member and guest needs and aid whenever possible.
  • Provide      directions, recommendations, and helpful information regarding the Club,      local area, attractions, and points of interest.
  • Offer a sincere      and professional farewell to members and guests upon departure.
  • Demonstrate      kindness, empathy, patience, and respect in every interaction.
  • Make every      effort to turn routine valet interactions into memorable experiences.

Vehicle Operations & Safety

  • Safely receive,      operate, park, secure, and retrieve member and guest vehicles.
  • Drive all      vehicles responsibly and in accordance with Club policies, traffic laws,      and established safety procedures.
  • Park vehicles      in designated areas using established stacking procedures to maximize      efficiency, speed, and available parking capacity.
  • Maintain      awareness of pedestrians, other vehicles, property, and changing traffic      conditions.
  • Conduct      appropriate vehicle inspections in accordance with Club procedures.
  • Secure vehicles      and maintain responsibility for keys and other account property while      vehicles are in Club possession.
  • Retrieve      vehicles efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and      care.
  • Immediately      report accidents, vehicle damage, safety concerns, or unusual      circumstances to management.

Front Entrance & Club Operations

  • Monitor the      Club's front entrance and maintain an organized, professional, and      welcoming arrival area.
  • Maintain      awareness of member arrivals, special events, VIP guests, and changing      Club activity.
  • Assist members      with luggage, packages, wheelchairs, umbrellas, or other reasonable needs      when appropriate.
  • Maintain a      clean, organized, and professional valet station, podium, signage, and      surrounding area.
  • Communicate      effectively with Club departments and management to ensure a seamless      member experience.
  • Report any      problems, unusual activities, security concerns, or member issues promptly      to management.
  • Protect the      confidentiality and privacy of Club members, guests, employees, and      company information.

Teamwork & Professionalism

  • Work cohesively      with fellow valet attendants, Club employees, and management.
  • Communicate      clearly, respectfully, and professionally with members, guests, coworkers,      and management.
  • Maintain a      positive attitude and professional demeanor, even during high-volume or      stressful periods.
  • Perform      assignments with minimal supervision while maintaining established Club      standards.
  • Assist      teammates whenever necessary to ensure the department operates      efficiently.
  • Demonstrate      accountability, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Follow all Club      policies, procedures, service standards, and safety guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Must possess a      valid driver's license.
  • Minimum of four      (4) years of driving experience preferred/required.
  • Must maintain      an excellent driving record.
  • Must have a      reliable means of transportation to and from work.
  • Must      successfully pass applicable background and DMV checks.
  • Previous valet,      hospitality, country club, private club, hotel, restaurant, or      customer-service experience is preferred.
  • Manual      transmission ("stick shift") driving experience is preferred but      not required.
  • Must be able to      communicate clearly and professionally with members, guests, coworkers,      and management.
  • Must      demonstrate sound judgment and a strong commitment to safety.
  • Must be      dependable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Valet Parking Attendant position is physically demanding and requires the ability to:

  • Run or jog to      and from work assignments when appropriate.
  • Stand and      remain active for extended periods, including approximately 5–6 hours      during a shift.
  • Bend, squat,      kneel, reach, push, pull, lift, and carry as necessary.
  • Lift and carry      items weighing up to 50 pounds, including signs, podiums,      wheelchairs, luggage, and other equipment.
  • Safely enter      and exit a variety of vehicles.
  • Work outdoors      for extended periods.
  • Work      effectively in all weather conditions, including heat, humidity, wind,      rain, and other inclement weather.
  • Maintain      appropriate physical awareness and mobility while working around moving      vehicles and pedestrians.
