Porter (Part-Time)

Under the direction of the Trailer Shop Manager, the Porter will retrieve/return trailer unit(s) that are scheduled for work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides delivery and transportation support for sales operations
• Retrieve/Return Trailer Unit(s) that are ready to be worked on
• Move Trailer around for customers to different locations
• Park Trailers either in the shop and/or in an open space on property
• Ensure the parking lot is organized allowing the flow of traffic to be functional
• Maintain and Update the inventory of trailer units parked on property
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Minimum of 1 year of porter experience
• Current CDL License
• A DOT physical examination clearance card must be held by the employee
• Good communication skills

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, listen and/or reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision.  The employee will be required to drive and inspect company vehicles. 

Occasionally the position requires the employee to work irregular or extended hours. Duties of the job require frequent use of a computer monitor and related equipment.

Office environment with exposure to environmental conditions.  The noise level in this environment is quiet to loud depending upon the activity in the particular part of the day.  This position requires some inspection and driving of potential company vehicles.  

TRAVEL:

Approximately 60-80% of time spent in this role requires local and out of town travel.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Employment with Matthews Motors will be on an at will basis.
