 Job Summary:

Gateway Special Recreation Association is looking for a part-time Recreation Aid to support individuals with and without disabilities in various recreational activities, special events, and fitness programs. The Recreation Aid will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and engaging environment for program participants while upholding the organization's core values of dedication, respect, support, and fun.

**Responsibilities:**

- Provide direct service and support to children and adults during recreation and sports programs.

 - Assist participants in actively engaging in a variety of recreational activities.

 - Report to Program Coordinators for guidance and program coordination.

 - Work flexible hours, including split shifts, mornings, afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays.

 - Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for all program participants.

 - Uphold the Mission & Values of the Ray Graham Association.

Requirements

 

**Qualifications Required:**

- Preferably 1 year of experience working with individuals with disabilities in a recreational, community agency, school, or employment setting.

 - Minimum age of 17 years old.

 - High School diploma or GED preferred.

 - Valid Illinois driver's license for staff aged 21 years or older.

 - Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

- Ability to pass a CHIRP and CANTS background check.

 - Capable of lifting and transferring individuals up to 75lbs.  

**Schedule:** Part-time position with up to 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.  

**Wages:** $17.50 per hour
