Job Description:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Shift Details: Part time (24 budgeted hours). Typically scheduled week days between the hours of 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. This position will work 3 days per week but the days may vary.
Unit/Location: Holy Rosary Miles City, Montana
Preferred Qualifications: RN with experience with IVs, infusions and ports preferred. Chemotherapy immunotherapy administration certification is required within six months of hire and expected to maintain and recertify every 2 years.
Scope:
- Administers chemotherapy, biotherapy, immunotherapy, antibiotics, other IV therapy, and symptom management.
- Demonstrates competency in all aspects of chemotherapy administration, immunotherapy, IV therapy, subcutaneous and intramuscular injections administration.
- Utilizes knowledge of medications, procedures, infection control, and safety precautions; recognizes and initiates appropriate interventions in urgent/emergent patient care situations.
- Knowledgeable and competent in safe handling, transport, and disposal of hazardous drugs.
- Provides assessment and documentation of adverse effects using the CTCAE grading scale.
- Ability to interpret laboratory values as relevant to patients' treatment.
- Ability to perform drug dose calculations and formulas as relevant to patients’ treatment.
- Provides and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process.
- Knowledgeable and practices within regulatory and hospital guidelines during any adverse event while administering chemotherapy, i.e.. extravasations, infiltrations, or chemotherapy spills.
- Demonstrates a sound knowledge of ONS and OSHA guidelines.
- Communicates effectively with all members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Identifies, assesses, and diagnoses problems through patient assessment and interactions; evaluates data and response to interventions; revises plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient.
- Demonstrates competent nursing clinical skills and knowledge when performing nursing procedures.
- Ability to accurately triage patients and intervene appropriately.
- Develops and completes patient and family education related to therapy, potential side effects, and symptom management. Assesses patient and family comprehension and re-educates as needed.
Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required.
**A Registered Nurse with an AS DN degree must complete a BSN degree within four (4) years from the Registered Nurses date of hire unless the Registered Nurse has a minimum of fifteen (15) years of proven continuous Registered Nurse experience in an acute care setting. Failure to obtain a BSN degree within that time frame may result in suspension or termination of employment. Any Registered Nurse who takes legally protected leave during the Four (4) year completion period may have the period extended by a comparable amount of time.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree of Nursing is preferred
Previous experience as a Registered Nurse is preferred

This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.- and -Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.- and -Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).- and -May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
