This position is an hourly position within the Joint Hydrographic Center/Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping, the world’s leading Center in ocean mapping. The position involves analyzing Arctic acoustic data. This position requires experience with data analysis using various programming languages and the ability to work with large datasets. Additionally, synthesizing data from oceanographic and hydrographic sensors is a must. Minimum knowledge of being able to interpret acoustic data is needed.
Duties/Responsibilities
Acoustic Analysis:
(20%) Familiarization with the data sets
(20%) Processing acoustic data
(20%) Interpret results of acoustic data
(20%) QA/QC the data
(20%) Prepare technical report
Requirements
Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:
Master in Oceanography
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment
Be able to community scientific findings to a diverse audience
Data visualization
Scientific writing
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Matlab and Rstudio
Work independently

Compensation Pay Range:
$28.00 per hour
