Registered Nurse (RN) – Employee Health Services

Location: Main Clinic, 3rd Floor | La Crosse, WI
FTE: Casual | Minimum 48 hours per 6‑week schedule
Schedule: Monday–Friday | Shifts between 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM | No weekends
Travel: Occasional travel to regional sites including Onalaska, Winona, Spring Grove, and Harmony

About the Role

Gundersen Health System is seeking a casual Registered Nurse to join our Employee Health Services team. This is a unique opportunity to care for the colleagues who care for our communities—while enjoying stable weekday hours and meaningful, mission‑driven work in the beautiful Coulee Region of La Crosse, Wisconsin.

As an RN in Employee Health, you will support the wellbeing, safety, and onboarding of employees, students, and volunteers across the organization. Your work will blend clinical skills, education, and workplace health expertise in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Employee Health Services is located on the 3rd floor of the Main Clinic at the La Crosse campus.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide employee health services to employees, students, and volunteers.

  • Conduct new employee onboarding visits, including:

    • Medical history review

    • Immunizations

    • Basic nursing assessments

    • Phlebotomy

    • Drug screen collection

  • Provide health education and support for employee wellness, including:

    • Fit testing clinics

    • PAPR and PPE training

    • Nicotine cessation support

    • Immunizations

    • Exposure management and phone triage

  • Perform clinical services and regulatory compliance activities such as TB testing, clinical screenings, and exposure management

  • Collaborate with Safety, Infection Prevention, HR, and other internal partners.

What We’re Looking For

Must‑Have

  • Current RN license to practice in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota (or ability to obtain/maintain multi‑state licensure).

  • Current Infant–Adult BLS for Health Care Providers (hands-on) via the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

  • Minimum 6 months of RN experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, flexibility, and solid critical thinking abilities.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN).

  • At least 1 year experience in occupational/employee health, workplace safety, or workers’ compensation case management.

  • Ideal candidate will have three or more years of RN experience in any setting.
