SAT/ACT Tutor and College Counselor

Job Title: Part-Time SAT/ACT Tutor and College Counselor 

Location: In-person in and around the city of Boston, MA

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable SAT/ACT Tutor and College Counselor to join our team. This role involves working directly with high school students to prepare them for standardized tests and to guide them through the college application process. The position is in-person and part-time in and around the city of Boston.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Provide 1-1, small group and classroom instruction for SAT/ACT preparation 

• Develop and implement personalized tutoring plans based on individual student needs and goals 

• Administer practice tests and analyze results to tailor instruction 

• Offer strategies and techniques to improve test-taking skills and confidence 

• Guide students through the college application process, including essay writing, application preparation, and school selection 

• Stay updated on the latest test formats, college admission trends, and requirements 

• Build and maintain positive relationships with students and their families 

• Track student progress and communicate regularly with parents and Livius Prep staff 

• Maintain a supportive and encouraging learning environment 

Requirements:  

• Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling or related field 

• Proven experience in SAT/ACT tutoring and college counseling 

• Strong knowledge of standardized test content and strategies 

• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

• Commitment to helping students achieve their academic goals 

• Reliable transportation for travel to various locations in the Boston area 

• Flexibility to work daytime hours with some availability in the evenings and weekends as needed 

Compensation:  

• Starting at $30 per hour, with potential adjustments based on experience and qualifications.
