OVERALL DESCRIPTION

Under the general supervision of the SEPTA Store Supervisor, AIDS with the daily operation of THE SEPTA Store. GREETS customers and ASSISTS with purchase of goods. STOCKS merchandise. BUILDS custom model vehicles.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. GREETS customers and PROVIDES product recommendations.


2. RESPONDS to customer inquiries.


3. INFORMS customers about sales, promotions, discounts, and store policies.


4. RECEIVES payment for purchases and PROCESSES returns using Shopify Point of Sale (POS) system.


5. PROCESSES phone orders and PREPARES for shipping.


6. ASSISTS with e-commerce store including preparing merchandise for sale and shipping.


7. STOCKS merchandise and CREATES displays for windows and walls.


8. INVENTORIES and MONITORS sales floor.


9. CHECKS new arrival merchandise and PROVIDES documentation to management for processing.


10. BUILDS HO scale model trains and trolleys, including detailed painting, and prepare them for purchase.


11. PERFORMS other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma.


• One year of customer service experience in a retail setting.


• Must possess effective communication skills.


• Must be customer friendly and possess a desire to assist others.


• Knowledge of e-commerce preferred.


• Must pass basic math test. 


• Knowledge of Shopify POS system preferred.

MINIMUM NEW EXPERlENCE AND WORKING KNOWLEDGE TO BE ACQUIRED ON THIS JOB:

• General knowledge of SEPTA services, modes of transportation, and counties served.

EQUIPMENT USED:

• Shopify POS system

PHYSICAL:

• Standing and moving about: 90%; sitting I0%.


• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Normal store environment.

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Knowledge in HO scale model construction/preparation preferred.
