Job title : Shooting Range Attendant
Job type: Part time (One service per quarter).
Location: Small Arms Range 628 Security Forces Squadron Joint Base Charleston, SC.
Requirements:
  • Have a basic understanding of firearms safety principles.
  • Familiarity with how shooting ranges operate, including range protocols, rules, and procedures.
  • Experience in commercial or industrial cleaning is often beneficial.
  • Physical fitness is important for carrying out these responsibilities safely and efficiently.
Duties:
  • Remove loose debris on the floor of the range with a vacuum equipped with a HEPA filter.
  • Conduct a wet decontamination of exposed no porous surfaces (floors, walls, baffles, and front of bullet trap) in the range using water and mild surfactant.
  • Prevent introduction of water to the bullet trap and auger system.
  • Floor drains in the range will be blocked to prevent the discharge of fluid.
  • Complete air monitoring for respirable metal (lead and chromium) dust during the performance of maintenance operations
  • Develop a list of damaged items or items that will require replacement and submit to the customer in the Security Forces Squadron.
  • Sample the waste generated for RCRA metals to determine if it is a characteristic hazardous waste.
  • Debris accumulated in the floor drain in the bullet trap area will be removed on an annual basis.
