Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Polysomnographic Technician!

As a Polysomnographic Technician at MercyOne, Under general direction of a registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), as directed by the leader, in accordance with the policies and procedures of Genesis Medical Center and the department, the Polysomnograhpic Technician prepares patients for and performs routine polysomnographic procedures and collects data pertinent to the interpretation of test results. The technician will perform only those procedures for which proficiency has been demonstrated and registration is not required, but will assist registered technologists with more complex recordings.

Schedule:  

• Night Shift (8pm - 6:30am)
• PRN - minimum requirement of 24 hours per month.

  

General Requirements:

• Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to an associate degree with an emphasis in polysomnography; Or successful completion of a Polysomnography program of no less than one year duration associated with a state licensed and/or nationally accredited educational facility; Or a Registered Respiratory Therapist or Neurodiagnostic Tech. (RRT or END, must become BRPT board eligible within 24 months of hire.)
• Certification by a nationally recognized certification board as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
• Must be licensed by the state of Iowa as a RPSGT
• Must provide completion of BLS & Mandatory Reporter within timeframe provided from hire date.
