This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. Note: Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time.

This temporary position is with NC Commerce - Labor Economics Analysis Division (LEADS) located at: 301 N. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC Wake County. 

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $20.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). 

The primary purpose of this position is to collect, process, analyze, and edit employment, wage, industry, and location data reported by employers to ensure the quality of state and local economic data. Key responsibilities include reviewing survey responses for accuracy, entering data into databases, contacting employers to verify responses, and resolving data discrepancies.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form
  • Working knowledge of methods and techniques used in gathering, editing, analyzing, interpreting and reporting social, educational, or economic information
  • Working knowledge of statistical principles and techniques used in collecting, interpreting, and reporting numerical data

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in education, business, sociology, economics, psychology or related to work performed from an appropriately accredited institution; or High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience involving collecting, interpreting, and reporting of statistical or social or economic data; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
