Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking a Specialist, Academic Programs - Boca Raton, FL.

The Specialist, Academic Programs position provides administrative and admissions support to the College of Nursing by assisting with applicant processing, transcript evaluation, interview coordination, and onboarding activities.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Manages applicant and student data within NursingCAS and internal student information systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficient workflow.

  • Evaluates academic transcripts to verify program eligibility, prerequisite completion, and alignment with admission criteria.

  • Supports student onboarding by guiding applicants through background checks, documentation requirements, and key steps in the admissions process.

  • Coordinates and schedules applicant interviews, ensuring a streamlined and positive experience for candidates and faculty.

  • Assists applicants in completing all application and enrollment materials, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely processing.

  • Performs other job-related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma and one year of appropriate experience required.

Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.


Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication.

Prior experience evaluating academic transcripts and transfer credit.

Familiarity with NursingCAS or other specialized higher-education CRM/application management systems.

Previous experience in academic advising or student support roles.

Salary:

$30.00 - $31.00 per hour.

Work Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday, Part time between the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., up to 25 hours.

Temporary positions are not established positions and are paid from OPS funds. Temporary positions are usually not eligible for benefits and retirement; however, they may be eligible for health insurance coverage depending on the average hours worked per week.
