Preschool Teacher Assistant

Saint Brigid of Kildare Preschool is seeking a teacher's assistant for a part time (less than 20 hours a week) position for the 2026-27 school year.

Description:

Assists the lead preschool teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment while supporting children’s learning, development, and daily routines.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma (or equivalent)

Experience working with young children as well as some basic knowledge of child development theory

Current satisfactory FBI and BCI background checks

Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God's Children training

Responsibilities:

Assist lead teacher in supervision of children, preparation of activities, and observation of individual children

Assist with clean-up activities

Work cooperatively with staff and parents

Attend and participate in staff meetings and in-service training

Notify director in event of absence

Refer parents to lead teacher for questions concerning child’s progress

Any other duties as assigned

Practicing Catholic preferred
