Ensures rooms are stocked with the proper equipment, deliveries are made to the proper department, and provides additional assistance as needed. Unit doses/pre-packs medications under the supervision of a pharmacist. Supports techs and may assist nurses. May support departmental customer service efforts by rounding in the waiting areas escorting patients and by cleaning waiting areas and high-touch surfaces. Proactively supports efforts that ensure delivery of safe patient care and services and promote a safe environment at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Certification Summary
- No professional certifications required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be receiving Temporary Assistance to Needs Family funds, qualified for Workforce Investment Act funds, or referred by Rehabilitation Services Commission
- Desire to work in a healthcare setting
- Good communication and pronunciation skills
- Scores of 9th grade in reading and 7th grade in math on the Test of Adult Basic Education
Job Responsibilities
- Checks appropriate dates to ensure medical supplies are current.
- Logs temperatures and de-frosts refrigerators as needed.
- Re-stocks in-room supply carts and personal protective equipment.
- Checks crash cart logs to ensure they are appropriately checked.
- Cleans intravenous poles, cables, fire extinguishers, waiting areas, high-touch surfaces, and other equipment as needed.
- Changes empty needle containers and linen bags.
- Ensures oxygen containers are stored in appropriate locations.
- Performs unit dosing/pre-packing of medications.
- Rounds in waiting areas to ensure patient comfort.
- Unpacks supply shipments and stores properly.
