Substitute Preschool Teacher

We are hiring a pool of substitute preschool teachers who love children and are seeking a flexible schedule.  Substitute teachers work "on-demand" when needs arise.  Shifts can vary from 4 hours to as little as 8 hours, based on your availability.  

As part of this pool, you will work on-call to help the team who may be sick, on vacation or in training.  The following all apply:

• Hours will be variable based on scheduling needs.  Likely to be 10-20 hours per month.


• Able to respond to requests within one hour using a smartphone app, often with little notice to start a shift.


• Some days will be scheduled in advance to help during planned vacations and training.
  


• Classroom assignments may vary from children aged one through five.  


• We are open M-F 7:00 am - 6:00 pm.  Needs will arise during these open hours.  

Job responsibilities include:

• Provide physical, emotional, and developmental care for children


• Ensure the health and safety of the children in your care


• Follow all State licensing guidelines


• Maintain a clean classroom with prompt attention to child needs


• Be able to lift and carry children


• Communicate properly and effectively with parents


• Fill out daily care sheets


• Assist with curriculum planning and craft work


• Work cooperatively with other team members


• Report to the director

Substitute teachers must be reliable once they've accepted a shift.
