Purpose
To assist in planning and implementing learning opportunities that further the children's social, emotional, cognitive, physical growth and development while acting as a support and resource for parents to ensure Head Start Program and Performance Standards are met.
Formal Policy-Setting Responsibilities
The policies associated with the job's purpose, essential responsibilities, and operation are set by others. Therefore, no formal responsibility is required.
Routine Decision-Making
To take appropriate actions to assure each child's health and safety.

Description
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required Knowledge
A working knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and education.
Required Skills or Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively with parents and include them in their child's learning process.
Knowledge of organizational skills to facilitate meeting designated timelines.
Positive attitude, relationship building and interpersonal skills with student's staff and families inside the classroom and Center environment.
Ability to lift 40lbs.
Formal Education
A high school diploma/GED and a minimum of six (6) college credit hours in any field
