Role:
Armco Credit Union is seeking a service and detail oriented Teller on a full-time basis to help support its Corry, PA branch and its ever-growing footprint. The Teller would assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 55% Receives and processes customer financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and travelers checks to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed and adheres to transaction limits. Cross-sells Credit Union services.
- 15% Requires knowledge of the Credit Union's policies & procedures that affect the teller function. These include monitoring of transactions in compliance with the Anti-Money Laundering Program, including for possible suspicious activity. Other policies & procedures include Regulation E (Electronic Funds Transfer Act), Regulation CC (Expedited Funds Availability Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act), CRA (Community Reinvestment Act), and FDIC Insurance Coverage. Tellers are required to stay current with information provided to them by management.
- 10% Balances cash drawer and daily transactions. Post transactions to member accounts and maintain member records.
- 10% Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning services and directs member to appropriate department for specific information and service.
- 5% Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and computer input.
- 5% Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers and associates.
- Balance your drawer daily with minimal offages.
- Accurately process and post transactions in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
- Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the member.
- Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
- Maintain a dependable record of attendance and timeliness.
- Follow all policies and procedures of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC). Complete on-line compliance testing annually as required. Adheres to all regulatory requirements and follows Credit Union Policies and Procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
Experience: One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Interpersonal Skills: Work involves contact with persons beyond immediate associates regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors), requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills: Knowledge of computer and database/word processing software. Strong communication skills. Ability to work with a wide range of people.
Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
Work Environment: Regular exposure to working conditions such as those found in a normal office environment.
