Job Description


The Turndown Service Attendant is responsible for providing evening turndown service to hotel guests while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hospitality. This position prepares guest rooms for the evening by refreshing the room, completing turndown amenities, and ensuring the guest has a comfortable and welcoming environment for the night.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities



  • Perform evening turndown service in assigned guest rooms according to hotel and brand standards.

  • Enter guest rooms appropriately and respect guest privacy and preferences.

  • Turn down beds and arrange bedding neatly for evening use.

  • Refresh and tidy guest rooms, including straightening furniture and removing trash.

  • Replace or replenish towels, bathroom amenities, tissues, and other guest supplies as needed.

  • Prepare and place turndown amenities, Chippers, weather cards, or other approved guest items.

  • Close curtains and adjust room lighting to create an appropriate evening atmosphere.

  • Check that the room is comfortable, clean, and properly presented before leaving.

  • Report maintenance issues, lost-and-found items, damage, or unusual conditions to the appropriate department or supervisor.

  • Restock and maintain the Turndown cart and supplies.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of hallways, service areas, and housekeeping spaces.

  • Follow all hotel procedures regarding guest privacy, security, lost and found, and key control.

  • Communicate professionally with guests and respond to reasonable guest requests or direct requests to the appropriate department.

  • Maintain a professional appearance and follow hotel grooming and uniform standards.

  • Complete assigned rooms within established time standards while maintaining quality.

  • Work closely with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Management to ensure a seamless guest experience.

  • Perform additional housekeeping duties as assigned.

The Turndown Service Attendant is expected to:



  • Provide warm, courteous, and professional service.

  • Anticipate guest needs whenever possible.

  • Protect guest privacy and personal belongings.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail.

  • Maintain discretion when working around occupied guest rooms.

  • Immediately communicate guest concerns or service recovery opportunities to management.


Qualifications



  • Previous hotel or housekeeping experience preferred but not required.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to interact professionally with guests and coworkers.

  • Dependable and punctual.

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect guest privacy.


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and push/pull housekeeping equipment.

  • Ability to lift and carry housekeeping supplies and linens.

  • Ability to safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.


Typical Schedule


Evening hours, generally during the hotel's evening guest-service period. Schedule may include weekends, holidays, and other high-occupancy periods.

  • Consistent completion of assigned turndown rooms.
