St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in Prekindergarten through grade 12. Our three campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our Goodrich Campus serves students in grades K-5, and our Randolph Campus serves students in grades 6-12. Salary Range: $24,580 - $29,809

Position Summary

St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks a part-time, one-year German teacher for the 2026-27 school year. The teacher will teach two sections of German: one section of German I and one of German III. 

The World Language teachers in grades 6-12 at SPA work closely together and often have crossover students and teachers between the Middle School and the Upper School, so experience working with students between ages 11-14 is a plus.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Teach two sections (typically 10-12 students) of Upper School German.
• Collaborate with other German teachers on scope and curriculum sequencing
• Evaluate student work according to departmental standards
• Participate in the life of the Upper School with occasional leadership or chaperoning responsibilities and other duties as assigned

 Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in German or Secondary German Education, or experience teaching German at the High School level
• Experience teaching or working with adolescents, preferably in a school setting
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability and desire to collaborate closely with colleagues and leadership
• Support for the Upper School’s mission and vision, and openness to professional growth
• Alignment with SPA’s values, including the willingness to practice and develop greater cultural competence and awareness
