PCSI is looking for a part-time Vocational Employment Specialist for our Vocational Rehabilitation services program in San Antonio. This team provides Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), job placement, and other support services to job seekers with disabilities.
The Vocational Employment Specialists support a client base of people with disabilities, including high school and young adult student populations, as they enter the workforce. This role works with clients to find employment opportunities, teach job and behavioral skills, and advocate for their vocational needs and goals with their employers. The Vocational Employment Specialist is also responsible for documentation and case management and works closely with other Vocational Rehabilitation department team members on other mission-focused programs.
This is a part-time position, typical hours of Monday-Friday, 9:00am-2:00pm. Some local travel by car in the San Antonio area is required.

What You'll Do as Vocational Employment Specialist:
- ââââTeach onsite Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), job, and life skills to high school and 18+ student populations.
- âTeach Vocational Adjustment Training coursework to individuals with disabilities.
- âSeek and secure employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
- âEnsure job accommodations are provided as stated to increase independence and productivity.
- âAdvocate for assigned clientele to ensure vocational needs, desires, and goals are known, addressed, and accomplished.
- âSupport independence with independent living skills such as personal hygiene (e.g. hand washing and occasional grooming issues, etc.) as necessary for job success.
- âSupport, implement, report, and follow up on positive behavior and behavior intervention.
- âDocument progress, maintain case management and prepare reports in support of the Company, mission, and state program requirements.
- âWrite, edit, prepare and submit a variety of Texas Workforce Commission report forms.
- âWork closely with department staff to develop positive, consistent relationships and communication to ensure opportunities and inclusion for employees.
- âParticipate in the development, implementation and management of internal and external mission-focused programs.
- âActively participate and regularly attend department and client staff trainings/meetings by sharing information, contributing ideas, facilitating and actively listening.

What You'll Need:
- ââââBachelor’s degree preferred.
- âMinimum two (2) years of experience advocating, training and developing people with various disabilities in departmental training and vocational settings required.
- âCertification in UNT Job Placement and Job Skills Training for the State of Texas is preferred.
- âCertification in UNT Vocational Adjustment Training for the State of Texas is preferred
- âBilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- âRequires knowledge of PC functions and Software.
- ââââOperational knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
- âExperience with SharePoint and Office 365 is preferred.
- âExcellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- âKnowledge of disability documentation, case notes and evaluations preferred.
- âKnowledge of Texas Workforce Commission – VRS policies and requirements.
- âKnowledge of community social services and case management techniques preferred.
- âAbility to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- âAbility to set and manage priorities.
- âHighly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
- âHigh level of integrity and confidentiality is required.âââ
Other Requirements:
- âAbility to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.
- May need to have the ability to legally drive a company vehicle.âââ
- Ability to work flexible hours to include mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, phone, fax, copier, etc. and a personal computer.
- Ability to exchange accurate information in person and over the phone.
- Primarily works indoors.
