Department: Preferred Family Healthcare – Youth Community Services
Employment Type: Part-Time
About the Role
Make a meaningful difference in the lives of youth and young adults—especially those transitioning from foster care into adulthood. As a Youth Specialist, you’ll empower clients to build independent living skills, gain employment, and achieve personal growth. This position provides both supportive services and financial assistance based on each youth’s individualized plan.

Key Responsibilities
Uphold program expectations, rules, and safety protocols; report client behaviors requiring therapeutic intervention.
Participate on the treatment team by identifying each client’s strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences.
Communicate and document client behaviors, concerns, and progress during and after shifts.
Assist clients with daily living skills and personal development tasks as needed.
Monitor and document client activities, including overnight bed checks.
Ensure all clients are accounted for and safety procedures are followed at all times.
Monitor clients’ general health conditions and report concerns.
Facilitate educational or recreational groups as scheduled.
Follow all medication policies and coordinate with trained nursing staff when needed.
Provide transportation for clients when necessary.
Complete all mandatory training within state-required timeframes.
Attend staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and trainings as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Understanding of confidentiality laws related to mental health and substance use treatment.
Ability to build rapport and maintain professional boundaries with youth.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clear documentation and reporting.
Experience & Education
High school diploma or equivalent, plus two (2) years of responsible employment history required.
