We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Washington DC and support current and upcoming projects in North America. The successful candidate will play a major role in the delivery of tunnels and underground structures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform geotechnical engineering analyses and design calculations for tunnels, shafts, foundations, temporary support of excavation systems, and soil/rock slopes.
• Work under the direction of lead engineers, who provide technical oversight.
• Write technical reports and other documents explaining the basis for analyses, designs or recommendations.
• Support geotechnical investigation programs including planning, permitting, implementation, data reporting, and writing interpretative reports.
• Assist with the preparation of construction drawings and specifications for underground infrastructure.
• Work as integral member of a team on complex and multi-discipline projects.

Requirements:

• MS in Geotechnical/Civil or Geological Engineering.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
• Completion of relevant coursework or experience in several of the following: geotechnical engineering, finite element analysis, soil and rock mechanics, tunneling, subsurface investigation methods.
• Familiarity with geotechnical analysis software for slope and excavation stability analysis, seepage analysis, seismic site response analysis.
• Familiarity with fundamentals of soil-structure interaction analyses and numerical analyses softwares.
• Willingness to travel for short-term field assignments.
• Excellent english skills
• Good communications and ability skills to interface effectively with other team members and clients.
