Embedded Systems & Software Engineer (HW / SW / Cellular / GPS) - Fast Hire

As an Australian and International leader in electronic design & manufacturing of portable electronic traffic management equipment Bartco Traffic Equipment is requiring an energetic, extremely motivated Embedded Engineer to join our existing R & D Technical team.

We are seeking an enthusiastic Embedded Engineer looking to advance their career through the opportunities this role and the business presents. You will be based in our Port Melbourne facility working with a small team as a key member to help create the next generation of products . Integration of various technologies including GPS, Cellular/VHF/satellite data communications, LED display & lighting technology, and autonomous solar powered monitoring equipment.

The ideal candidate will be capable of working end-to-end through the product development lifecycle, working with staff to define project scope, creation of production ready schematics, PCB layouts, testing / troubleshooting to support our existing product line up as well as developing procedures for after sales support new developments. 

We work primarily with AVR and ARM so the emphasis is heavily toward the digital end of the spectrum, although some analogue and EMC design experience is beneficial.

In addition to the above the following skills are essential.

• Embedded firmware development in C
• Embedded systems design, development and testing
• Ability to fault find and competently use diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization.

You will hold a relevant degree and have several years' commercial experience, with a track record backed up by an impressive list of past achievements and personal projects.
