About the role

Our General Manager- Retail Sales will be responsible for developing and executing the sales strategy and leveraging existing networks to drive business growth, pipeline development and achievement against Sales targets while cultivating long term, trusted relationships with key clients.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee revenue generation and product profitability, with a dedicated sales team.
  • Developing a trust relationship with major clients to ensure that Simba’s position as key supplier is maintained and enhanced to achieve organic and new business growth targets.
  • Identify prospective brand partners in the global retail landscape and devise strategies to forge relationships with potential buyers and retailers.
  • Responsible for submissions and tenders as part of the whole sales process, leading complex contract and pricing negotiations.
  • Own the financial performance of the Retail business measured by Sales, Margin, Gross Profit & Stock Management (including sell through and stock turn metrics).
  • Craft compelling business proposals/pitch decks and present these to prospective retail partners.
  • Maintain market and competitor knowledge and product trends, providing insights to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborating with the Design and Product teams to develop a strategic roadmap for customers and products to meet client needs.

About you

You have a passion for homewares and textiles and have extensive experience and networks within the retail sector. You will have strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of retail & wholesale business and market dynamics.

As a seasoned leader who has the ablity toget the best out of a team, you will have the following skills and experience:

  • At least 7 years’ experience in a retail B2B sales environment.
  • Existing relationships and networks with businesses and decision-makers, across the retail and homewares sector.
  • Commercially savvy – Experience in managing a P&L, pricing, and margins.
  • Ability to identify and forecast on market trends and opportunities, consumer behaviour, product, brand and lifecycle trends.
  • Strong leader, who takes pride in seeing the team elevate and shine.
  • Being a team player with exceptional communication skills who enjoys working with multiple stakeholders across different functions.
